RICHMOND, VA-- The Richmond Iron Horses announced the signing of former Winston-Salem State tailback Quarderman Sloan on Friday. The Iron Horses and Sloan reached an agreement on a two-year deal that will keep the speeder in Virginia for the 2023 and 2024 seasons.

Sloan is a professional football veteran, having spent a season abroad in the German Football League with the Frankfurt Universe.

Sloan would begin his collegiate career at Northwest Mississippi Community College rushing for a team-best 1,053 yards as a true freshman. As a sophomore, he would follow up a strong freshman campaign with 649 yards and nine touchdowns. After a strong two-year stint in the Junior College football ranks, Sloan would transfer to Murray State and eventually to Winston-Salem State University.

With the addition of Sloan, the Iron Horses add an explosive tailback that can catch out of the backfield and be a force on special teams. At five foot and seven inches, Sloan is short in stature but big in big-play capabilities and will be a handful for opposing defenses. Look for Sloan to be a fixture in UFL offensive player of the week discussions.

The Iron Horses will open their 2023 season at home against an inter-state rival, the Virginia Beach Destroyers. Season tickets are on sale, with pricing starting at $200, only $22 per game.
